SALT: Special Advisory Legal & Trust

SALT: Special Advisory Legal & Trust

SALT: Special Advisory Legal & Trust.
SALT specialises in complex cross-border and unique structuring and advisory solutions.
These include establishing or advising on international trusts, fiduciary services, companies, foundations, regulated funds, Limited Partnerships, banking and escrow services.
Unlike traditional trust companies, Salt Trust can offer clients advice on structures as well as establish them.
Clients of a Salt Trust structure may be assured that the staffing and service is professional and highly efficient.
Its founding partner is Stephen Abletshauser who founded and managed a legal, trust and corporate services firm, Palladium Advisors, over 10 years. Palladium Advisors counted significant UHNWIs and their family offices, legal and accounting firms of pedigree as well as transformative SMEs among its core clients. Palladium Advisors’ corporate and trust services business was sold to a listed fund in 2019 and Palladium Advisors’ legal practice was transferred to Bayern Legal Limited (‘BLL’) which Stephen wholly owns.
Stephen is admitted to practice in the British Virgin Islands, Ireland and England & Wales and has over 15 years professional experience at the highest level in the wealth structuring arena.
SALT is based in Barbados which is a beautiful, well-educated, and peaceful island which has been independent of the United Kingdom since 1966. It has a progressive and favourable corporate tax system for trusts and companies.

Our mission statement

  • Efficiency – too often corporate service firms, especially ‘offshore’, are slow
  • Robustness – structures must withhold scrutiny of efficacy as well as perception. Prepare for a thorough health check from authorities one day!
  • Peace of mind – clients must feel confident their wishes will be honoured in practice
  • Estate planning – it is best to plan as 2020 has shown us all
  • Asset protection – too often structures are attacked successfully due to a lack of foresight rather than ill intention
  • Privacy – it is every citizen’s right
  • Independence – in how we think and with whom we work
  • Tax optimisation – we live in a global marketplace. Wealth custodians owe a positive, fiduciary duty to seek the optimal situation, provided morally sensitive and legal
